Founder Award 11 has introduced a new font application category this year, encompassing brand, poster, book, packaging, and animation designs, in addition to the traditional font design category. This expansion highlights the significance of typefaces in design work.
While Gothic and Mincho fonts dominate contemporary graphic design due to their typographic versatility and recognition, creative fonts with distinctive characteristics often receive less attention. The aim is to challenge this convention and explore the potential of these underutilized typefaces.
Several FounderType fonts have been redesigned using competition information as text, showcasing the unique features each font brings. These graphics are designed to be appreciated not just as readable text but also as decorative patterns.
Inspired by the "blind box" concept, these patterns have been transformed into various gifts and will be randomly distributed to designers interested in the competition. The hope is that these items will be well-received and spark engagement among the design community.
